HIStory of SeedCare
The Burning Passion
It all started when, before turning 30, Shailene began to ask the Lord what her role was going to be in God’s Kingdom. Then, she recognized that over the years, the LORD, has gradually planted certain burden in her heart…
… to take care of an underprivileged pastor by ensuring she is well-fed physically so she can focus completely in sharing hope and salvation that can be found only in Christ Jesus.
… to restore hope and to provide a better future to underprivileged children by sponsoring their education.
… to see a remote village reached out with the Gospel of Jesus, and to see the Philippines transformed by and through the power of God’s Word.
The Journey
During Shailene’s childhood years, she had to walk several kilometers every Sunday to hear the preaching of God’s Word. In teenage years, she had the privilege to live with and to personally witness how underprivileged pastor managed to survive out of God’s grace. The pastor is often forced to ‘fast’ not because she needs to but because she lacks the resources to cover her basic needs. Yet, out of pure love for the Lord and out of compassion to bring hope and salvation to the many perishing souls, the pastor gladly fulfills her call believing that the Lord will faithfully take care of her daily bread.
Shailene felt her tithes and offering would not be enough to support their calling, she recognized the need of these pastors to have faithful partners to enable them to completely focus on their calling, thereby, helping them effectively fulfill the mandate of the Lord – the Great Commission.
The Birth of SeedCare International Ministries
Shailene believes that God is pleased with a single step of faith to fulfill His vision. If we are found faithful with little resources, God will one day entrust us with many responsibilities and resources, including many faithful partners and volunteers, as well as faithful and obedient ministers who will saturate every village in the Philippines and in the 10/40 window nations with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Shailene felt that when these brethren’s needs are aired to the many Gospel-hearted people in North America and around the globe, many would respond to share God’s abundance through us to supply the needs of these brethren so there will be no lack.
Moved by 1Timothy 5:17 Amplified Bible “Let the elders who perform the duties of their office well be considered doubly worthy of honor [and of adequate financial support], especially those who labor faithfully in preaching and teaching”, Shailene was convinced to pave the way towards the germination of SeedCare International Ministries on June 7, 2012 to offer Kingdom investment opportunities to God’s people in North America in order to advance the gospel of Christ in the Philippines as well as in the 10/40 window unreached nations of the world.
The Name “SeedCare”
God’s workers are like seeds in God’s Kingdom requiring proper care and support from us. If these “SEEDs” are nurtured and taken “CARE” of properly, there will be a greater harvest of souls which will bring much joy to the Father’s heart.
