PASTOR BERNARDO LIBED

CLAVERIA BAPTIST CHURCH
Claveria, Cagayan Valley

“When the Lord calls you, He has chosen you and His calling has no boundaries” I believe God chooses leaders, pastors and workers from the most unexpected places and situations just like my experience would tell. I have been serving as a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church for five years when the Pastor asked me to take over the ministry due to a crisis in their family.

At first, I couldn’t comprehend how I would take over the leadership of the church. I then enrolled in a theology course at PGM Ballesteros in Cagayan in 1993 and graduated the following year. Being formally trained in the Word of God gave me more confidence because my experience tells me that winning souls is more difficult than I imagined. However, the One who began the good work in me is faithful; Jesus Christ is my very life and strength. By God’s grace, in 1998, the Lord answered our prayers as a brother donated a property in Claveria for the church.

OUR MINISTRIES

Our independent church is founded with varied church programs and activities. Today, the church is in the midst of expanding three outreaches in the province of Kalinga Apayao. This ministry reaches out to the indigenous people of Isneg, an ethnic group native to far-flung areas of Apayao province, who has been hungry for God’s Word of hope and love for years. This hunger for God among the unreached people motivates us and against all odds utilizes whatever resources we have on hand to get to them. We hold worship services every Sunday and conduct different bible study programs. These bible studies for families and children do not only teach the Word of God but practical life applications and value of education are integrated.

HOW YOU CAN INVEST IN ETERNITY

The tithes and offerings are used towards the renovation of the church building due to the damages on the roof and part of the wall. We feel this is a more urgent need due to safety reasons. The church cannot afford to bring all the volunteers in our outreaches due to lack of funds. The church also needs a tricycle to be able to access the outreaches and other areas for evangelism and discipleship training. We appeal to you, our potential supporters, we need your continuing help and we covet your valuable time for prayer, and need your generous heart to give. With your support, we can advance the kingdom of God in Zamboanga and glorify Him in all aspects of our lives.
