PASTORA RUFINA
PANGASINAN STATE UNIVERSITY PENTECOSTAL HOLINESS CHURCH
Sta. Maria, Pangasinan
My first personal encounter with God was in 1988 while working in Hong Kong. A friend invited me to attend a bible study and after 7 months of listening to the teaching about God, I decided to accept Jesus Christ into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior. Around that time, after my conversion, I had a dream and a vision of myself teaching the Word of God to many.
The same friend, who was instrumental to my becoming a believer in Christ, told me that God was calling me into the ministry. However, I was not convinced; therefore, I renewed my contract, even with the recurrent dream and vision of being a teacher of the Word of God.
Until one day, I received news from the Philippines that my mother was dying of cancer. I packed my bags and went home to take care of her. I then prayed to God to heal my mother and promised to serve full-time in response to His call if He would heal her. My mother got healed, and in keeping with my commitment to God, I went to a bible school and have been a pastor for 22 years now.
OUR MINISTRIES
Our church started with 3 members only. My child started a brigade of sharing the words of God in their campus. We call this as “cell group.”
With only 3 members, it becomes 10 and then 20 and then more. Our core ministry is equipping the youth and students, who are turning to Jesus Christ, with the Word of God so that in turn they can be the evangelists to
their families, in their workplace and in their community.
With the continuous growth of the number of cell groups in the Pangasinan State University campus, we needed to rent a meeting place to serve as a student center where evangelism, discipleship and equipping these students take place. We also do boarding house visitations to share God’s Word.
This student ministry is now on its third year.
